Wedding caterers
Wedding catering is usually the most demanding type of event service because guest numbers can be large and the programme may cover several meals. When comparing wedding caterers, ask how many guests they can serve comfortably, whether they cook at the venue, how many service staff are included and what equipment they bring. If breakfast, muhurtham lunch and reception dinner are all required, request one written proposal showing the complete schedule.
Housewarming and family functions
Housewarming ceremonies and family functions are often smaller than weddings but timing can be just as important. Early-morning poojas may require breakfast to be ready at a fixed time, followed by lunch later in the day. Traditional vegetarian, Brahmin, Jain, Satvik or no-onion/no-garlic requirements should be explained clearly when requesting a quote.
Corporate catering
For offices, the practical details matter: delivery time, packaging, serving staff, dietary labels and invoicing. Some caterers specialise in recurring staff meals, while others are better suited to annual days, product launches, conferences and larger corporate celebrations. Make sure the caterer understands building access, loading rules and the exact meal-service window.
Birthday and private party catering
For birthdays and smaller parties, a compact menu with popular dishes often works better than an oversized buffet. Live counters, snacks, desserts and easy-to-serve food can keep the event moving without needing a large service team. Ask what setup space and electrical connections the caterer needs if live counters are part of the plan.
Traditional and religious functions
Religious ceremonies can involve very specific food practices. A profile badge is useful for discovery, but if you require Brahmin catering, Jain food, Satvik preparation or a no-onion/no-garlic kitchen, confirm the exact preparation method with the caterer. Also discuss banana-leaf service, serving sequence and the time the meal needs to begin.
Event caterers in our three launch cities
Browse Chennai caterers, Hyderabad caterers and Bangalore caterers. Use the area filter to prioritise businesses close to your venue, then narrow by food preference, cuisine and service style.
What to send when requesting a quote
Include the date, venue, guest count, event type, meal time, dietary preference and service style. Mention whether the venue has a kitchen and whether you need cooks, servers, crockery, buffet equipment or live counters. A detailed first enquiry makes it easier for the caterer to provide a realistic proposal.
